Rollei Goes Bust

In another gloomy sign of the times, Franke & Heidecke, the company that produced the legendary Rolleiflex and Rolleicord twin lens reflex (TLR) cameras, has filed for bankruptcy.  Beautifully engineered and equipped with some of the best lenses ever made, these cameras were (and still are) terrific to use.  Below are some images from Democracy of Speed, my long-term documentary project on motor sports in America.  All were made with a Rolleiflex, at Eastside Speedway, in Waynesboro, Virginia.
