In less than a week, we'll be launching my new book, One Love, Ghoema Beat: Inside the Cape Town Carnival. Clarke's Bookshop, on Long Street, in central Cape Town, is hosting the event. Paul Weinberg, the South African photographer, will say a few words. Zorina's, home of the some of the city's finest curries, salomis, and other glories of the Cape Malay cuisine, will cater. A good time will be had by all.

My mom and I are sorry we missed the book launch on Tuesday, we had to attend our friend's Xhosa class. BUT we stopped by the Book Lounge yesterday, and Jan found and purchased a copy to use for her class. Wonderful Photographs!
