Who, Me? Wired's Favorite Photobloggers

How about that?  Wired magazine's Raw File blog has named me one of its favorite photobloggers.

Here's part of what the blog has to say:

Mason deals with America’s visual heritage in fresh and often surprising ways.  He mines the Farm Security Administration photography archives and applies the back stories, social contexts and even a smattering of jazz and car-culture references.

Set against the current networks of (social) media exchange, academic writing is facing a direct challenge.  Mason is a rare example of an academic opening up his writing for wider readership. He’s also a professor who tweets.

By the way, if Pete Brook hadn't been the person who put it together, his own blog, Prison Photography, would have been at the top of the list.  Don't let the name fool you.  It's definitely about prison reform, social justice, and photography, but that's only the beginning.  Check it out.
